How to get and keep a Texas real estate license

  1. Complete 180 hours of pre-license education

    Six 30-hour courses, then apply to TREC.

  2. Pass the state and national exams

    70% needed on each portion, taken with Pearson VUE.

  3. Complete 90 hours of SAE before your first renewal

    Plus 8 hours of Legal Update I and II. SAE can't be deferred.

  4. Renew every 2 years with 18 hours of CE

    Including Legal Update I and II and 3 hours of contracts.
