North Carolina postlicensing: common questions

How many postlicensing hours do provisional brokers need?

90 hours, split into three 30-hour courses: Post 301, Post 302 and Post 303. Completing them removes provisional status.

When is postlicensing due?

Within 18 months of your initial licensure, to stay eligible for active status.

Do I have to take the courses in order?

No, but NCREC recommends 301, 302, then 303, because the course materials were written in that sequence.

What happens if I miss the deadline?

Your license is placed on inactive status, and you can't perform brokerage activities or collect brokerage fees, including referral fees, while it's inactive.
