Maryland CE renewal: common questions
How many CE hours do Maryland real estate salespersons need?
15 hours each renewal: 3 hours of Legal and Legislative Update, 2 of Fair Housing, 3 of Ethics, 3 of Principles of Brokerage Relationships and Disclosure, and 4 elective hours.
Does NAR ethics count?
No. Maryland's ethics course must cover the Maryland Code of Ethics, flipping, predatory lending and professionalism, and NAR ethics isn't a substitute.
When do I have to finish CE?
During your license term and at least 30 days before you submit your renewal application.
Can out-of-state CE count?
Possibly, toward electives only. Email your out-of-state certificates to the Commission at least 30 days before your license expires.
What if my license expires?
A Maryland license can be expired or inactive for at most three years before you have to retest.
