Getting a Kentucky real estate license: common questions
How many hours of pre-license education does Kentucky require?
A 96-hour sales associate pre-license course from a KREC-approved provider, or six academic credit hours of real estate courses from a college or university.
When do I get my background check?
Before you register for the exam. You don't need the results to register, but the check is valid for only 90 days, so pass the exam and apply before it expires.
How long do I have to apply after passing?
60 days from passing both portions. If you miss that window, your exam results are void.
What do I send with my application?
Your course completion certificate, a copy of your diploma, GED or transcript, proof of errors and omissions insurance, any out-of-state license histories, and the license fee.
