Getting an Iowa real estate license: common questions
How many hours of pre-license education does Iowa require?
96 hours: a 60-hour principles and practices course plus three 12-hour courses in Buying Practices, Listing Practices and Developing Professionalism and Ethical Practices.
Can I take the courses online?
The 60-hour course can be live or online. The three 12-hour courses are live instruction only.
How long are my courses good for?
Less than one year. The 60-hour course must be under a year old when you pass the exam, and all courses must be under a year old when the Commission receives your application.
