Florida post-license: common questions

How many post-license hours do Florida sales associates need?

At least 45 hours of FREC-approved sales associate post-licensing courses, including the required course exams, completed before your first renewal.

When is Florida post-licensing due?

Before your initial license expires. Your first renewal period lasts 18 to 24 months from when you were licensed, and post-licensing must be done within it.

Do I need post-licensing if my license is inactive?

Yes. FREC requires sales associates to complete post-licensing whether their license is active or inactive.

Does post-licensing count as continuing education?

No. Post-licensing courses aren't treated as continuing education, and you may not see those hours posted as CE on your MyFloridaLicense.com account. The 14-hour CE requirement starts with your second renewal.

Is anyone exempt from post-licensing?

Yes. Anyone with a 4-year degree in real estate from an accredited college or university is exempt.
