Connecticut CE renewal: common questions
How many CE hours do Connecticut real estate salespersons need?
12 credit hours per two-year cycle: the 3-hour mandatory 2028 CT Real Estate License Law course and 9 hours of electives.
When is the CE deadline?
For the current cycle, all hours must be completed between March 1, 2026 and February 28, 2028, three months before the renewal deadline. Late completion can bring a fee or enforcement action.
Is there an alternative to taking courses?
Yes. You can pass the 40-question Connecticut CE Examination through PSI during the cycle; ask PSI for the "40 Question" exam.
Does reciprocity exempt me from CE?
No. CE is required for all Connecticut salespersons, including those licensed by reciprocity, and only Connecticut-approved courses count.
How do I prove I completed CE?
You attest to it when you renew. Keep certificates and records for at least four years in case the Department of Consumer Protection audits you.
