Texas real estate exam: common questions
What score do I need to pass the Texas real estate exam?
Sales agent applicants need at least 70% on each portion of the exam, state and national. The two portions are scored separately.
When can I schedule the exam?
After TREC reviews your application and confirms your education, you'll get an email from TREC with instructions for scheduling the state and national exams with Pearson VUE.
What happens if I fail?
You can retake it. But if you fail either portion three times, you must complete additional education before you can test again.
If I pass one portion and my application expires, do I retake both?
Not necessarily. A passed portion stays valid for one year from the date you passed it, so if you reapply within that year you won't need to retake it. Both portions must be passed before your application expires.
