Washington does not have a separate post-license course requirement. New licensees must complete their first 30-hour CE renewal cycle within 2 years of licensure.

What does Washington require for a first renewal?
At least 90 hours: a 30-hour Advanced Practices course, a 30-hour Real Estate Law course, the 3-hour Current Issues in Washington Residential Real Estate course and at least 27 hours of other approved CE.
Can courses I took before getting licensed count?
No. The 90 hours must start after the date you're first licensed.
When is my first renewal due?
Two years from your license issue date. For example, a license issued 12/1/25 renews on 12/1/27.
What comes after the first renewal?
30 hours of CE every two years, including the 3-hour Current Issues course and the 3-hour fair housing course.
