Getting a Virginia real estate license: common questions
How many hours of pre-license education does Virginia require?
60 class/clock hours of a Board-approved salesperson pre-license course.
Do CE courses count toward pre-license?
No. Courses taken for continuing education aren't accepted for pre-license credit in Virginia.
Where do I get fingerprinted?
Virginia residents must be fingerprinted at a PSI testing location in Virginia, or through Fieldprint. Your complete application must reach the Board within 45 days, or you'll need new fingerprints.
I'm licensed in another state. What do I need?
If your out-of-state license isn't expired, you only need to pass the state portion of the Virginia exam. You still need the 60 hours of pre-license education.
