How many CE hours do Louisiana real estate agents need?
12 hours of approved CE every year, including the LREC mandatory course topic, completed on or before December 31.
What is the 2026 mandatory course?
"Transparency, Technology, and Trust," required for salespersons and brokers renewing active. Commercial agents may take "Money Matters & RPR for Commercial Agents" instead.
Do I need CE in my first year?
Yes. In the year your license is issued, you need the 12 hours including the mandatory topic before renewing active. Post-license hours can cover part of it, but not the mandatory topic.
What if I miss the December 31 deadline?
It's considered a violation of LREC law and rules and is subject to a fine citation.
