Indiana post-license: common questions
How many post-license hours do new Indiana brokers need?
30 hours of Commission-approved postlicensing education, taken and passed within two years of when your license was issued.
Does post-licensing count as CE?
Yes. It fully satisfies the CE for two CE years. The year you're licensed doesn't count, so CE starts with the third CE year after the one in progress when you were licensed.
What does it cover?
The rules require 30 hours that include 6 hours of instruction in Indiana real estate transactions, such as unauthorized practice of law, contracts, and listing and purchase agreements.
What if I don't finish in time?
A broker who doesn't complete the 30 hours is subject to action under IC 25-1-4.
