Georgia CE renewal: common questions
How many CE hours do Georgia real estate agents need?
36 hours of Commission-approved continuing education during each four-year renewal period, including 3 hours on License Law.
Do brokers have extra CE requirements?
Since July 1, 2025, brokers must complete at least 18 hours of broker-specific topics. Those hours count toward the same 36-hour total.
Is anyone exempt from Georgia CE?
Yes. GREC says licensees whose license number is below 100,000 aren't required to complete continuing education to renew.
What if my courses aren't posted by my renewal date?
GREC recommends renewing to inactive status to avoid a late fee. Once the courses are posted, submit a Change Application to reactivate; there's no fee to reactivate.
How much does it cost to renew?
The standard renewal fee is $125 for real estate licenses, and renewing online saves $25. Renew by midnight on your due date or your license lapses and a late fee applies.
