Arizona first renewal: common questions

Does Arizona require post-licensing education?

No. Instead, you take a 6-hour Contract Writing course before you apply, and your first renewal requires the standard 24 credit hours of CE.

Does my Contract Writing course count toward my first renewal?

Yes, if you took it within one year before your original licensure date, ADRE rules let you include it in your first renewal.

What do I need for my first renewal?

24 credit hours of approved CE in your first two-year license period, with at least 3 hours in each mandatory category and 1 hour each on Firewise, Deed Fraud and Arizona Water.

What happens if my license expires?

You can't practice while it's expired. ADRE can renew it without a new exam within one year after expiration, and terminates licenses expired for more than a year.
